Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, Nuclear Power Group, seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead digital modernization for nuclear plants. You will design I&C systems, coordinate with clients and vendors, and guide project teams through complex control solutions.

You will leverage a strong background in nuclear plant instrumentation, DCS and PLC technologies, and safety-focused design, with opportunities to influence project outcomes and stay at the forefront of modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS or MS in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years designing instrumentation and controls for heavy industrial plants within project teams.
• Experience with controls design including low/medium voltage distribution and equipment like turbines, pumps, and feedwater control.
• Experience with DCS for nuclear reactors including turbine and feedwater control systems.
• PE license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high-level, complex programs for nuclear power projects.
• Lead technical decision-making in a project team for digital upgrades of I&C systems.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve instrumentation and controls engineering issues.
• Coordinate design activities to comply with specifications and client requirements.
• Prepare design input documentation including master diagrams and schematics.
