Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, Nuclear Power Group, seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead digital modernization for nuclear plants. You will design I&C systems, coordinate with clients and vendors, and guide project teams through complex control solutions.

You will leverage a strong background in nuclear plant instrumentation, DCS and PLC technologies, and safety-focused design, with opportunities to influence project outcomes and stay at the forefront of modernization efforts.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited BS or MS in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
10+ years designing instrumentation and controls for heavy industrial plants within project teams.
Experience with controls design including low/medium voltage distribution and equipment like turbines, pumps, and feedwater control.
Experience with DCS for nuclear reactors including turbine and feedwater control systems.
PE license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and market high-level, complex programs for nuclear power projects.
Lead technical decision-making in a project team for digital upgrades of I&C systems.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve instrumentation and controls engineering issues.
Coordinate design activities to comply with specifications and client requirements.
Prepare design input documentation including master diagrams and schematics.
