Job summary

Join Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group as an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to upgrade and modernize nuclear plants. Lead and support small to large controls projects, coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will develop PLC/DCS/HSI designs, write requirements and procurement specs, interface with clients, review technical reports, and manage resources and budgets across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience in I&C design engineering; at least 5 years at a nuclear facility.
• PE license preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly in speech and writing.
• Technically knowledgeable of equipment and proven pre-engineered systems for execution.
• Experience serving as client liaison in a support or lead role.
• Experience in reviewing design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop Digital Systems Design — PLC, DCS, HSI, networked computer systems.
• Prepare control system requirements and procurement specs for nuclear plant control systems.
• Interface with client to ensure project execution and satisfaction.
• Review technical reports, calculations, and studies to meet client requirements.
• Manage resources loading and develop estimates for task completion and budget development.
• Support development of proposals and review diagrams/drawings for new/upgraded controls solutions.
• Evaluate vendor bids from a technical perspective and witness FAT where required.
• Support project implementation at the client’s facilities.
