Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group seeks an experienced instrumentation and controls engineer to lead design, analysis, and commissioning for major nuclear power projects. You will direct technical decisions within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on digital upgrades, safety, and performance enhancements.

Ideal candidates have ABET-accredited engineering degrees and 20+ years in I&C design for heavy industrial plants, with experience liaising with clients and reviewing complex drawings.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 20+ years of experience in the design engineering of instrumentation and controls engineering systems in a project team environment for heavy industrial plants.

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high level, complex programs for nuclear power projects related to design, operational excellence, safety, maintenance, and project management.
• Lead technical decisions in a project team with engineers and designers on digital upgrades of power plant controls systems.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of instrumentation & controls engineering issues.
• Coordinate system design activities to ensure designs meet specifications and client requirements.
• Prepare and review detailed calculations for analog and digital controls applications and documentation for drawing production.
