Job summary

Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design, analyze and deploy control systems for new and existing nuclear plants, including SMRs. You will collaborate with project teams to develop PLC/DCS architectures, prepare specifications, and review documentation to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires a BS in engineering from an ABET program, 5+ years in I&C design, and strong communication skills. PE license is preferred; U.S.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in I&C Design Engineering.
• Experience in design engineering for nuclear power plant control systems.
• Experience with equipment selection, control philosophy, and design packages.
• Design experience for turbines, pumps, and data displays.
• Experience as a client liaison in a lead engineering role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• PE license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on instrumentation and control systems for new and existing nuclear power plants.
• Develop and review PLC, DCS, and touchscreen control designs.
• Prepare and review calculations, scaling, and setpoints for controls.
• Interface with vendors for equipment specifications.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly.
• Perform independent reviews of work and mentor junior engineers.
• Support project management to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
