Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group is expanding its Instrumentation and Controls Engineering team. This I&C role focuses on upgrading and modernizing nuclear power plants using latest control technologies, leading and supporting projects with strong project management and cross-discipline coordination.

The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering from an ABET program, 10+ years in I&C design (5+ in nuclear), and a preferred PE license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 10+ years of I&C Design Engineering experience; at least 5 years at a nuclear facility.
• PE license is preferred.
• Ability to clearly communicate both in speech and written formats.
• Experience serving as the firm's client liaison in a lead or support engineering role.
• Experience in reviewing design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support control projects with focus on technical execution and project management.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines to bring projects to completion.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve controls engineering issues.
• Develop digital systems design (PLC, DCS, HSI, networked systems) and procurement specs.
• Interface with clients to ensure project execution and satisfaction.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and studies for client requirements.
• Manage resources and develop estimates for task completion and budget.
• Develop and review diagrams and drawings for new and upgraded controls solutions.
• Evaluate vendor bids and witness FAT at client site.
