Job summary

TerraPower, Bellevue, WA, is seeking a Principal Engineer, I&C Design to lead instrumentation and control system design for advanced nuclear reactor projects. You will guide cross-functional teams, oversee supplier efforts, and ensure robust change control in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes senior technical leadership, system integration, and collaboration with scientists and engineers to deliver safe, reliable I&C solutions for Generation IV technologies.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Controls, Electrical, or related discipline; 10+ years direct I&C experience.
• Experience in instrumentation and controls development for industrial I&C platforms.
• Nuclear reactor safety systems familiarity desired but not required.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead interface with diverse design teams to develop system and component specs.
• Specify instrumentation techniques for sodium fast reactor tech and related storage tech.
• Oversee supplier projects and ensure timely data and deliverables.
• Coordinate design changes and maintain change control across teams.
• Lead audits and continuous improvement of design processes.
