Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Design Engineer to support the Nuclear Design Group in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of nuclear facilities. Roles span mid-level to principal engineer, with opportunities to lead, mentor, and advance along technical, leadership, or business paths.

The team works across locations including San Luis Obispo, CA, and other U.S. sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or similar Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with design of I&C plant components and controls systems including PLCs and DCS.
• Must have experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects directly or with an engineering/design consulting firm.
• Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• US Citizenship is required by Federal Contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop precise engineering deliverables: drawings, calculations, and analyses that meet codes and client expectations.
• Develop engineering documents that meet client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements with strong QA.
• Stay current with industry codes, safety culture, and advanced design techniques.
• Deliver engineering solutions that align with QA programs and raise project performance.
• Build trust with clients via clear communication and professional engagement.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated designs that meet project requirements.
• Provide field support with on-site plant walkdowns to ensure structures, systems, and components meet high standards.
