Job summary

ENERCON is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer to join the Nuclear Design Group. The role focuses on developing I&C plant components, PLCs, and DCS with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to update drawings, review vendor submittals, and provide on-site field support across multiple U.S. locations. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and capable of working in a federal contract environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical or similar Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with design of I&C plant components and controls systems including PLCs and DCS.
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects.
• Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• US Citizenship is required due to Federal Contract Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop precise engineering deliverables: drawings, calculations, analyses per codes and client expectations.
• Set engineering documents to exceed client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with industry codes, safety culture, and advanced design techniques.
• Drive quality and precision within the quality assurance programs.
• Cultivate strong client relationships through clear communication and engagement.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated designs.
• Provide field support with on-site plant walkdowns and assessments of structures, systems, and components.
