Job summary

TerraPower LLC in Bellevue, WA, seeks a Principal Engineer, I&C Design to lead instrumentation and control system development for Gen IV reactor technologies. You will drive system design, testing, and integration, and oversee design changes across multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires 10+ years of I&C experience, strong leadership, and familiarity with nuclear safety standards (IEEE, RG codes) and design documentation.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Controls, Electrical, or related discipline.
• 10+ years direct experience with instrumentation and controls systems.
• Experience with nuclear reactor safety systems or nuclear instrumentation design desired.
• Familiarity with IEEE standards and regulatory codes relevant to nuclear power.
• Ability to lead design changes and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Interface with diverse design teams to develop documentation and specifications.
• Lead design changes and oversight of I&C suppliers and scopes.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure design stability and compliance.
• Integrate I&C with other disciplines and manage change control processes.
• Lead audits and continuous improvement of engineering design practices.
