Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead hydraulic structures projects for hydropower clients across the Northwest, West Coast, and Southwest. You will manage and mentor junior staff and build an execution team capable of delivering diverse multi‑discipline design projects.

You will collaborate with professionals across disciplines, develop high‑quality PS&E packages, and leverage hydraulics, geotechnical and mechanical knowledge to create engineered solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support EOR requirements.
• Background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records may be required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients to understand infrastructure challenges and develop technical solutions.
• Translate client direction into efficient workplans and coordinate with project team members.
• Prepare calculations, design documents, cost estimates, and analysis reports.
• Oversee equipment procurement and construction management processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across disciplines.
• Support business development activities for pursuing projects.
