Job summary

Black & Veatch’s Civil Works Team seeks a Dams Engineering Manager to lead multi-disciplinary dam, hydropower, flood control, and hydraulic projects across the Northwest, West Coast, and Southwest regions. You will mentor junior staff, develop execution teams, and deliver high-quality design products and analyses.

You will engage with client personnel, coordinate with departments, and oversee calculations, cost estimates, and technical documents while advancing your leadership and project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure (PE) to support engineer of record (EOR).
• Experience with dams and hydropower clients (preferred).
• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Communicating and working directly with client counterparts to understand key interests and develop technical solutions for infrastructure challenges from concept to closeout.
• Translating client direction into efficient workplans and coordinating with project team members to deliver high-quality work products.
• Creating written technical documents, technical drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and analyses.
• Demonstrating familiarity with design guides, standards, systems, and codes relevant to the hydropower industry.
• Mentoring junior engineers and overseeing junior work and assignments.
• Planning, scheduling, and coordinating detailed phases of engineering work for major projects or portions of projects.
• Participating in internal management and leadership training to develop regional leadership capabilities.
