Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation seeks a Senior Registered Engineer-Structural-Hydropower/Hydraulic Structures to lead design and analysis of complex hydro projects, including powerhouses, dams, spillways, and penstocks, while ensuring safety and code compliance.

You will supervise engineers/technicians, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide guidance on standards and design practices, with up to 20% travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Structural/Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration in at least one state with ability to obtain additional licenses.
• Minimum 11 years of related structural design experience including steel structures and reinforced concrete.
• Pre-employment checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex structural analysis and calculations for Hydropower and Hydraulic Structures.
• Perform site inspections and develop remediation recommendations for aging infrastructure.
• Lead Comprehensive Assessment of hydropower projects under the FERC Part 12d dam safety program.
• Supervise engineers and technicians; manage larger production teams and project delivery.

Education

Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science from an ABET accredited Structural or Civil Engineering program

Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program
