Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specialized in hydropower to lead design and upgrade projects across hydro plants. You will assess turbines, dam conveyance, cooling systems, and supporting infrastructure while coordinating with multi‑discipline teams and clients.

The role emphasizes delivering technically rigorous solutions, maintaining quality, and supporting site work, commissioning, and data collection as projects progress from concept through completion.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements.
• All applicants may be required to complete pre-employment checks (criminal/civil background, drug screen, MVR) where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Continues developing knowledge and may provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems and codes.
• Independently applies knowledge and complies with BV quality program; may guide others.
• Prepares complex engineering deliverables for large projects and performs calculations.
• Oversees data collection and manages data for engineering work.
• Coordinates with internal/external teams on moderately complex projects.
• Assists with client interests and drivers; supports business development activities.
