Job summary

KGS Group is seeking a Hydroelectric Mechanical Engineer with PE to lead engineering solutions for hydro and dam projects. You will guide technical teams, mentor engineers, and coordinate multidisciplinary work across internal and external stakeholders.

The role emphasizes hydro-mechanical design, project management, site investigations, and development of high‑quality deliverables, with opportunities to grow our hydropower practice.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE licensure with ability to obtain license within 1 year in WA, OR, or CA or equivalent.
• Experience with hydroelectric projects, dams, and associated balance of plant systems.
• Strong leadership and ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design modifications to mechanical systems for dams and hydroelectric plants.
• Manage multiple projects from proposal through completion.
• Conduct site investigations and provide design/construct support.
• Lead teams and coordinate across disciplines to meet quality, schedule and budget targets.
• Edit and prepare design specifications and reviews.
• Develop and advance the hydro-mechanical practice and share knowledge internally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
