Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced software engineer for its Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) group in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on real-time software to support missile flight simulators and integration with hardware test environments.

You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, design build procedures, and ensure code quality and system standards. A bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years in related fields is required, along with a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or STEM field and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with software development in C++, using OO features.
• Experience with at least two of: Embedded Software, Embedded Software Security, Embedded Operating Systems (Linux, RTOS, VxWorks).
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start with ability to obtain program access.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop software to control HWIL facilities (flight simulators for missiles).
• Determine end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
• Design and implement build procedures to support hardware and software product development.
• Software design, coding and integration in a real-time environment.
• May train software developers in configuration management tools and software quality standards.
