Job summary

RTX is seeking a software engineer for the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) team in Tucson, AZ to design and integrate real-time software for flight simulators used with missiles. You will collaborate with weapon system designers to meet stringent mission requirements and enable robust test environments.

The role requires a BS in CS/Engineering, at least 2 years of C++ embedded experience, and an active DoD Secret clearance. Onsite position with relocation eligibility and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or STEM with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in C++ OO programming.
• Experience with Embedded Software, Operating Systems (Linux/RTOS) and software architecture.
• Active and transferable Secret DoD security clearance required before start.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop software for HWIL facilities (flight simulators for missiles).
• Determine end-user needs by analyzing system capabilities and requirements.
• Design and implement build procedures to support hardware/software product development.
• Software design, coding and integration in a real-time environment.
• Train software developers in configuration management and software quality standards.
