Job summary

RTX is seeking a highly skilled software engineer for the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Department in Tucson, AZ. You will join a multidisciplinary team to design, implement and test real-time missile flight simulators and related control software.

The role emphasizes software development, integration and documentation in support of tactical software delivery to warfighters. A DoD Secret clearance is required or must be obtainable, with an onsite work arrangement in Tucson.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience across Agile SDLC in 3+ of: C/C++, Python, OO languages; real-time integration; test equipment maintenance; requirements definition.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop software for hardware-in-the-loop facilities (flight simulators for missiles).
• Conduct software design, coding and integration in a real-time environment.
• Determine end user needs by analyzing system capabilities and ensuring hardware/software standards.
• Design and implement build procedures to support hardware and software development.
• May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
• Mentor software developers on configuration management and software quality standards.
