Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced software engineer for its Hardware-in-the-Loop division in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on real-time software for missile flight simulators, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to design, code, and integrate advanced testing environments.

You will determine end-user needs from system capabilities, ensure conformance to hardware and software standards, and implement build procedures for development teams while potentially training staff in software quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other STEM related field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Agile software lifecycle experience across multiple domains and languages (C/C++, Python, OO).
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop software for HWIL facilities (flight simulators for missiles).
• Software design, coding and integration in a real-time environment.
• Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems and ensure hardware/software standards are met.
• Design and implement build procedures to support hardware and software product development.
• Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
• May train software developers in configuration management and software quality standards.
