Carrier is seeking a Sr. Sales Application Engineer to support the sales team by providing technical expertise and strategic guidance for complex Applied HVAC projects.

You will translate customer needs into optimized equipment configurations while ensuring compliance with performance, budget, and regulatory standards. This role is remote and focuses on the Midwest region of the United States, with preferred locations including several Midwestern states and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering field or engineering technology.
• 5+ years of HVAC application engineering, equipment selection, or pre-sales technical support.
• 2+ years of experience with Air Handlers and Chillers.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.

Responsabilités

• Develop, validate, and optimize applied HVAC equipment selection based on project specs.
• Ensure quoting, sizing, and equipment specs meet customer requirements and standards.
• Identify cost-saving and technical improvement opportunities in system selection.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and HVAC tech developments.
• Develop and refine detailed technical proposals and quotations for complex projects.
• Ensure pricing accuracy, margin optimization, and alignment with discount strategies.
• Provide technical application support to sales team members.
• Support sales teams in presenting competitive, technically sound solutions.
• Prepare, review, and approve final technical submittals per customer and industry standards.
• Collaborate with sales and project teams to identify scope gaps and risks; pursue value engineering.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, configurations, and customer approvals.
• Provide technical guidance to sales and support teams on high-value opportunities.
• Assist in product training and lead multiple training topics.
