The role focuses on complex Applied HVAC equipment selections, proposals, and submittals, translating customer needs into optimized configurations and competitive, technically sound solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• Approximately 5+ years of HVAC application engineering or pre-sales technical support experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within the territory.
• MBA or Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of applied HVAC systems and commercial building applications.
• Experience supporting complex commercial projects including water-cooled chillers and custom applied solutions.
• Experience leading teams responsible for selection, pricing, and technical proposal support.
• Proficiency in HVAC selection and design tools, CRM systems, and pricing or configuration platforms.
• Familiarity with competitive bid, RFP, and negotiated sales processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize Applied HVAC equipment selection for complex projects.
• Ensure quoting, sizing, and specifications align with customer requirements and standards.
• Stay informed on industry trends and competitor strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
• Develop and refine detailed technical proposals and quotes.
• Provide technical application support to sales team members.
• Support sales teams in presenting technically sound, competitive solutions.
• Prepare, review, and approve final technical submittals.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities with project teams.
• Maintain records of project costs, configurations, and approvals.
• Provide technical guidance on high‑value opportunities.
• Assist in product training and present on multiple topics.
• Support local and national customer events.
