Job summary

Modigent is seeking a Service Technician IV to lead complex commercial HVAC service projects and mentor junior technicians. You will provide expert guidance on high-priority calls, oversee on-site teams, and ensure safety, quality, and documentation standards are met.

The role requires 7–10+ years of experience, EPA 608 Universal certification, and strong leadership with excellent customer communication. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of progressive commercial HVAC service, repair, and maintenance experience.
• EPA Section 608 Universal certification required; additional credentials strongly preferred (NATE Advanced, journeyman license, controls training, OSHA 30).
• Advanced diagnostic and leadership skills across wet-side and dry-side systems, controls/DDC/BMS, VFDs, and integrated building systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor effectively, make decisions under pressure, and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional customer-service and communication abilities; professional demeanor with facility managers, engineers, and executives.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, quality workmanship, and positive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex service projects and high-priority calls with advanced diagnostics and major repairs.
• Perform expert-level troubleshooting, component replacement, refrigerant management, and energy-efficiency upgrades.
• Oversee junior technicians on-site, delegate tasks, demonstrate techniques, ensure safety and quality.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers on critical accounts, explaining issues and recommending improvements.
• Coordinate with dispatch, field leadership, parts, and other trades to resolve escalated issues.
• Document detailed reports and contribute to process improvements and safety training.
