Job summary

Modigent is seeking a seasoned Service Technician III to independently diagnose, repair, and optimize complex commercial HVAC systems across diverse buildings. You will lead challenging service calls, mentor junior technicians, and ensure code compliance, energy efficiency, and high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include advanced diagnostics, major component replacements, preventive maintenance, and hands-on startup/commissioning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive hands-on commercial HVAC service, repair, and maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; trade school, apprenticeship completion, or equivalent preferred.
• EPA Section 608 certification (Universal strongly preferred); additional certifications a plus.
• NATE certification and OSHA training are advantageous.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, and air handlers.
• Perform major component replacements, refrigerant handling, system balancing, startup/commissioning, and retrofits.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, energy-efficiency assessments, and system optimization to minimize downtime.
• Lead full service calls from dispatch to completion, communicate findings to customers, coordinate parts, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Mentor Service Technician I and II, promote safety and quality standards, and support on-the-job learning.
