Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Portland, TX, seeks a Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration, to lead installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems across facilities.

You will guide diagnostics, preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and mentor field teams to ensure uptime and optimal performance. Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in HVAC and grocery rack refrigeration.
• 6 years’ HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience with an AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or Universal) as required.
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• 1 year plumbing/electrical or 2 years Walmart store experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR; clean DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems including ductwork and refrigeration units.
• Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial equipment.
• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to optimize performance and uptime.
• Manage refrigerant handling and ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA/EPA).
• Coordinate and mentor field teams; provide hands-on training and skill development.
• Maintain parts inventory, vendor relationships, and service schedules to meet priorities.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical operations.
