Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Kannapolis, NC is seeking a Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration to lead installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC/R systems.

You will supervise preventive maintenance programs, manage refrigeration units, and coordinate field teams to ensure safe, compliant operations. The role requires detailed documentation, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include 3 years HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration or 6 years with an AAS in HVAC/R.
• EPA Certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or Universal).
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Experience with in-store service and field escalation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems and refrigeration units.
• Lead diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues for optimal performance.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
• Manage refrigerant handling, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Coordinate and mentor field teams; provide hands-on training.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical needs.
• Maintain company vehicles and follow safety policies.
