Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Senior Building Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to lead complex HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations for commercial and wastewater projects. The candidate will interpret building and NFPA codes, size distribution systems, and draft models using AutoCAD and Revit.

The role supports work in the Eastern United States, with a preference for living near Philadelphia, Ramsey NJ, or NYC offices.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Typically 5+ years in building mechanical engineering or related experience.
• License: PE preferred or in progress; BC SMS Framework experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations.
• Interpret codes and NFPA standards for projects.
• Size ductwork, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems.
• Draft and model systems in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Prepare detailed specifications for equipment.
• Review drawings/specifications for accuracy and coordination.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
