Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Mechanical HVAC Designer to join the Building Mechanical team. You will design HVAC systems for heavy industrial clients, perform field investigations, and interface with clients and vendors to size and select equipment, preparing construction design packages.

You’ll lead the schedule and technical quality of complex engineering tasks, collaborate with a multi-discipline team, and work within Jacobs' hybrid policy to deliver outcomes on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• At least ten (10) years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems for industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems.
• Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate with the project team remotely.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design of HVAC systems.
• Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents, including sizing calculations, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), P&IDs, and general arrangements.
• Development of final construction documents for these systems (e.g., chilled water, cooling water).
• Coordination with other disciplines.
