Job summary

Trane Technologies, a world leader in climate solutions, is seeking an Applications Engineer to shape HVAC controls offerings and drive the design, development, testing, and support of future HVAC system applications and controls.

The role leverages field experience to act as a SME for segment leaders, product engineers, and managers, while participating in hands-on development, testing, and field validation of new systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field; 8+ years in building automation or HVAC controls.
• Hands-on experience delivering HVAC controls projects from handoff to turnover is strongly desired.
• Familiarity with software development concepts and automation tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for HVAC system applications, interfaces, and 3rd party integrations.
• Monitor trends to inform product feature roadmaps and project feasibility.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve technical issues and support field trials and deployments.
• Author and review engineering bulletins, application guides, and best practices.
• Present technical topics to internal and external audiences.
• Travel up to 20% to customer sites and field events.
