Trane Technologies is seeking an Applications Engineer to shape HVAC controls offerings within the Segment vertical market. The role combines SME responsibilities in fulfillment and application of controls with active design, development, testing, and support of future HVAC system applications and controls offerings.

Qualifications

• B.S./B.E. in Engineering, Controls, Mechanical or related field required.
• 8+ years in building automation or HVAC controls/execution.
• Hands-on experience from handoff to system turnover desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for HVAC system applications and integrations with 3rd party systems.
• Monitor trends and impacts on product roadmaps.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate feasibility and resolve issues.
• Provide commercialization support for field office sales and operations.
• Author/review engineering bulletins, guides, best practices and specifications.
• Present technical topics to internal and external audiences.
• Participate in customer visits, seminars and field events.
• Direct support of critical customer projects; include job-site work.
• Conduct VOC activities to identify customer and user needs.
• Define scope and requirements for next-gen HVAC applications.
• Design and deploy system-level applications and control logic.
• Establish testing strategies with modeling, simulation, and HIL testing.
• Support field trials and site rollouts for deployments.
