Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanical Service Technician Lead for the Osvaldo N. Soto Justice Center in Miramar, FL. This senior role combines hands-on maintenance with BAS support, CMMS documentation, and technical mentoring to improve reliability and energy efficiency.

The position requires advanced troubleshooting, extensive HVAC knowledge, and strong leadership in a busy, on-site environment. A competitive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; HVAC/R training preferred.
• At least five years of commercial or institutional HVAC maintenance; seven+ preferred.
• Experience with large commercial HVAC equipment and controls.
• Working knowledge of BAS/BMS platforms; Metasys experience preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and sequences of operation.
• EPA Section 608 certification; additional HVAC or controls certifications preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform advanced preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and corrective repairs on commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Monitor HVAC system operation through the facility’s Metasys BAS; investigate alarms and setpoints.
• Troubleshoot HVAC-related sensors, actuators, control valves, and VFD interfaces.
• Coordinate with controls specialists for programming and energy-efficiency opportunities.
• Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs and CMMS documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor technicians; ensure safety and quality.
