Strengthen the Justice Center’s HVAC and BAS technical capabilities while improving maintenance quality, digital PM execution, and long-term equipment reliability. This is primarily a hands‑on senior technical role, not a replacement for the Maintenance Manager.
The HVAC/Mechanical Service Technician III provides advanced technical support in the operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and mechanical building systems at the Osvaldo N. Soto Justice Center, an approximately 620,000-square-foot, multi‑story judicial facility. This hands‑on position combines commercial HVAC expertise with building automation system (BAS) support, maintenance quality assurance, computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) coordination, and technical mentoring. The position supports the transition to electronic preventive maintenance documentation and contributes to safe, reliable, and efficient building operations.
On‑site work in an active judicial facility, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, equipment spaces, and restricted‑access areas as authorized. Duties may require physical activity typical of commercial HVAC service and occasional schedule adjustments for critical maintenance or emergency response, consistent with company policy. The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturday work and after hours may be required to support planned maintenance, projects, operational needs, or emergency response.
HVAC system reliability, troubleshooting effectiveness, and reduction of repeat failures. Timely, safe, and technically sound completion of assigned maintenance activities. Quality and completeness of CMMS records and electronic PM checklists. Documented quality inspections and timely verification of corrective actions. Effective technical support, teamwork, contractor coordination, and communication.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $33-$46 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, we recognize that exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile.
