Job summary
Carrier is seeking a Sr. Sales Application Engineer to support the Midwest region with technical expertise for complex Applied HVAC equipment selections, proposals, quotes, and submittals.
The role partners with sales, engineering, and operations to translate customer needs into optimized configurations while ensuring performance, budget, and regulatory alignment. The position emphasizes deep technical insight, competitive awareness, and value engineering, with 50% travel and remote support
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or engineering technology.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC application engineering, applied equipment selection, or pre-sales technical support.
- 2+ years of experience working with Air Handlers and Chillers.
- Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and optimize applied HVAC equipment selection for complex projects.
- Ensure quoting, sizing, and specifications meet customer requirements and standards.
- Identify cost-saving and technical improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical guidance to sales teams on complex projects.
- Prepare, review, and approve final technical submittals and proposals.
- Support pricing accuracy and margin optimization in proposals.
