Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to work on electric transmission design projects from 46 kV to 345 kV, including both overhead and underground systems. You will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, and related standards while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role offers 100% remote work based in Michigan with regular site visits; a Civil Engineering degree with eight+ years of experience is required; PE license is preferred and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least eight years in electric utility transmission design.
• Experience reviewing transmission designs including PLS-CADD, foundations, materials, profiles, and packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, ASCE; specs; procurement; schedules; work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work in teams and independently; strong client communication.

Responsibilities

• Engineer HV overhead and underground transmission projects from 46 kV to 345 kV.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement/construction packages.
• Interface with clients, environmental, permitting and construction management teams.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination across Leidos team.
• Travel to client sites as needed.
