Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Substation Technician- B to perform construction, maintenance and repair of substation equipment across various locations. The role requires rigors physical labor, climbing up to 125 feet, and a valid CDL with no restrictions.

Travel is 90% and the candidate may work independently or with a crew, coaching subordinates as needed. The position includes working around energized systems and may involve long hours during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) with no restrictions.
• Must supply own hand tools required by the company.
• Must supply safety-toed work boots.
• Must be capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
• Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Willing to travel 90% as required.
• Capable of climbing and working at heights up to 125 feet.
• Experience with high/low voltage equipment and substation systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance or repair of substation equipment and systems.
• Work with buswork, terminals, transformers and switchgear across voltage levels.
• Maintain company vehicles and test equipment in good condition.
• Coach crew members and communicate with customers.
• Travel to various locations; may travel to another state as needed.
• Work safely around energized systems and interpret drawings.
