CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. The role focuses on HV substation design (230kV–345kV), acting as Engineer of Record and leading a team of engineers and designers.

The ideal candidate has PE licensure, 15+ years of related experience, and a proven track record delivering HV substations, AIS/GIS, grounding, and station service systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
• 15+ years of related experience in HV substation design and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, execution, and delivery of HV substation projects from 230kV to 345kV.
• Act as Engineer of Record for substation physical design.
• Review engineering deliverables, studies and calculations for quality and compliance.
• Mentor and develop engineers and designers.
• Support project staffing, budgeting, and utilization goals.
• Drive business development and client relationship management.
