CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to provide technical and organizational leadership in our Power and Energy practice. The role focuses on HV substation design and leading a team of engineers and designers.

You will serve as a recognized technical authority, oversee project delivery, mentor staff, and support business growth while ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Leadership能力 demonstrated for developing and retaining high‑performing teams.
• HV substation design expertise and power delivery infrastructure knowledge.
• Substation physical design including AIS/GIS, grounding, lightning protection, station service systems.
• Experience managing complex projects, budgets, schedules, resources and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, execution and delivery of HV substation projects from 13.8kV to 345kV.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) for substation physical design.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables to ensure quality and standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for planning, design through construction and startup.
• Drive standards development and continuous improvement in engineering processes.
