Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to provide technical and organizational leadership in our Power and Energy practice. You will lead HV substation design, serve as EOR, mentor staff, and drive project delivery across 230kV–345kV installations.

Ideal candidates will manage budgets and resources, support business growth, and maintain strong client relationships while advancing technical excellence and professional growth of engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 15 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, and delivery of HV substation projects ranging from 230kV to 345kV.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) and technical authority for substation physical design.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, studies, and calculations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support integrated project delivery.
• Manage team utilization, staffing, budgets, and project performance.
• Support business development activities and client relationships.
