Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, and energization for utility-scale HV substations, BESS, and PV facilities. This fully remote role involves travel 20–30% and acts as the senior technical authority across commissioning workstreams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• PE license or ability to obtain.
• 10 years of testing, commissioning, energization experience for HV substations, BESS or PV facilities.
• 5 years leading commissioning/energization on complex utility-scale projects.
• 2 years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend Owner, Utility, and stakeholder meetings as requested by the Commissioning Manager.
• Develop Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Plans aligned with project specs and interconnection requirements.
• Develop and execute Initial Energization Procedures for HV substations, BESS, and PV systems.
• Serve as the engineering authority for complex commissioning issues requiring analysis.
• Review protection philosophies and relay settings to ensure safe energization.
• Lead HV switching operations during initial energization and commissioning activities.
• Review and approve commissioning reports and closeout documentation for client release.
