Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, and energization for utility-scale HV substations, BESS, and PV facilities. The role involves travel 20–30% and active field participation.

You will serve as the senior technical authority, coordinating with Owners, Utilities, OEMs, and Field Services, and provide engineering leadership, review plans, and approve deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; PE preferred.
• 10+ years in testing, commissioning, energization of HV substations, BESS, PV facilities.
• 5+ years leading commissioning and energization on complex utility-scale projects.
• Experience with protection coordination studies and relay settings.
• Strong communication and safety skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend Owner and utility meetings as requested.
• Develop Testing & Commissioning plans aligned with specs.
• Lead initial energization and field coordination of HV substations, BESS, PV facilities.
• Review protection schemes and relay settings for readiness.
• Mentor Commissioning Engineers and ensure safety standards.
• Prepare and release commissioning reports and handover packages.
