Job summary
SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, and energization for utility-scale HV substations, BESS, and PV facilities. The role requires travel (20–30%) and active field participation.
You will serve as the senior technical authority, coordinate with Owners, Utilities, OEMs, and Field Services, develop energization strategies, review protections, and provide mentorship to Commissioning Engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years in testing, commissioning, energization of HV substations, BESS, PV facilities.
- Minimum 5 years leading commissioning/energization on complex projects.
- Minimum 2 years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience.
- PE license or ability to obtain; NETA Certification.
- Experience with protection coordination studies and relay settings.
Responsibilities
- Lead testing and energization activities for HV substations, BESS, PV facilities.
- Develop T&C plans and energization procedures.
- Review protection philosophies and relay settings.
- Coordinate field operations and site safety.
- Mentor commissioning engineers and ensure QA.
