Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, and energization for utility-scale HV substations, BESS, and PV facilities. The role requires travel (20–30%) and will serve as the senior technical authority, interfacing with Owners, Utilities, OEMs, and Field Services.

The position emphasizes engineering oversight, development of energization strategies, and mentoring to ensure safe energization and project success, with a fully remote working arrangement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years in testing, commissioning, energization of HV substations, BESS, PV facilities.
• Minimum of 5 years leading commissioning/energization on complex projects.
• Minimum of 2 years in engineering leadership or supervision.

Responsibilities

• Attend Owner, Utility, and stakeholder meetings as requested by the Commissioning Manager.
• Develop Testing & Commissioning Plans aligned with project specs and interconnection requirements.
• Develop and execute Initial Energization Procedures for HV substations, BESS, and PV systems.
• Review protection philosophies, relay settings, and commissioning strategies for readiness.
• Review and approve commissioning reports and perform corrective actions as needed.
• Lead post-energization support, including field troubleshooting and turn-over packages.
