Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to act as a technical lead for complex vehicle repairs and field operations. The role blends in-center service with remote and on-site support, traveling to remote locations as needed.

You will mentor junior technicians, drive continuous improvement, and tackle challenging diagnostic tasks using advanced tools in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduation from automotive repair school or vocational program preferred.
• Minimum age 21; valid driver's license with clean record.
• Able to travel to regional locations or production plants as needed.
• Proficient in Windows/Mac environments and diagnostic documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations and inspections in service centers and field settings.
• Provide high-level diagnostic guidance to field teams and perform remote diagnostics.
• Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians; lead cross-functional problem-solving.
• Use specialized diagnostic tools to resolve complex electrical, HV, and network faults.
• Oversee parts operations: ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing.
• Produce documentation and provide root-cause analysis to engineering teams.
• Interact professionally with customers, suppliers and internal teams during escalations.
