Job summary

Rivian is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to act as a technical expert and leader in supporting complex vehicle repairs and field operations. The role may involve remote work, travel to remote locations, or production plants to provide advanced field support as needed.

The position requires strong diagnostic skills, leadership, and the ability to mentor junior team members while driving continuous improvement in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8+ years automotive repair experience, bumper-to-bumper diagnostics.
• 3–8+ years HV (high voltage) systems work and HV diagnostics.
• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles (e.g., Shop Foreman, Team Lead).
• Demonstrated background in continuous improvement and escalation management.

Responsibilities

• Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections in service centers and field settings.
• Provide high-level diagnostic guidance and remote troubleshooting for field teams.
• Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians and internal partners; lead problem-solving.
• Utilize specialized diagnostic tools (PICO-Scope, PCAN, Kavaser Memorator) for HV and network faults.
• Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive standardization across workflows.
• Oversee parts operations: ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing.
• Produce documentation for service support and engineering systems; provide root-cause analysis.
• Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams during escalations.
