Job summary

Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a Human Services Assistant III to be the initial contact for clients seeking benefits and services, screening for eligibility and guiding applications. This is a full-time role with responsibilities across Adult Services, Foster Care and Employment Services.

You will interview clients, assist with applications, coordinate resources, prepare reports, and help schedule appointments while maintaining accurate records and providing clear information on program

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customer service principles and ability to assess client needs.
• Proficient in documenting interactions and maintaining client records.
• Ability to interpret program policies and explain them to clients.

Responsibilities

• Screens clients for benefits and services; interviews clients and explains programs, services, policies and procedures.
• Assists clients with applications and provides information on program eligibility.
• Researches information and coordinates referrals for services.
• Maintains logs of client documentation and schedules appointments for staff.
• Generates basic reports and verifies hours for Home/Adult Care providers.
• Supports Adult Services, Foster Care, Employment Services and Benefit Programs as assigned.
