Job summary

Gainor Staffing is seeking a senior HR leader to support attorneys, professional staff, and firm leadership in a high-caliber law firm. The role centers on employee relations, leadership coaching, talent retention, and compliance within a sophisticated professional services environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of HR experience with strong employee relations expertise, and law firm experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of HR experience with expertise in employee relations
  • Law firm experience strongly preferred
  • Experience conducting complex workplace investigations and advising senior leaders
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws including FMLA, ADA, USERRA
  • Immigration knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Advise partners, firm leadership, and managers on employee relations, performance, policy, compliance, and workforce matters
  • Lead complex investigations involving attorneys and professional staff and partner with internal and employment counsel as needed
  • Coach leaders on difficult employee situations, conflict resolution, performance management, and policy interpretation
  • Oversee leave administration and provide guidance on accommodations and employment law requirements
  • Lead firmwide HR initiatives involving retention, performance evaluations, training, mentoring, and employee engagement
  • Analyze HR data and employee feedback to strengthen policies, programs, and talent strategies

Who You Are
  • You have 7+ years of progressive HR experience with significantexpertisein employee relations
  • Law firm experience strongly preferred, with an understanding of the unique dynamics of supporting attorneys, partners, and professional staff
  • Experienced conducting complex workplace investigations and advising senior leaders on sensitive employee matters
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and related leave requirements
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, project management, and executive communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experiencerequired; immigration knowledge is a plus

Salary Range: $150,000 – 230,000 annually, based on experience

Location: Chicago, IL – Hybrid
