Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Senior HSE professional to support a new manufacturing site in Richmond, VA. The role will transition to site HSE operations after construction and commissioning to support medicine manufacture.

Responsibilities include managing the CSMP, coaching project teams, and ensuring regulatory and corporate HSE standards are met across projects. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in construction/capital projects.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis (no visa sponsorship).
• Experience with 29 CFR 1926 governing construction.
• Experience with contractor safety management and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support the management of GFD’s Contractor Safety Management Program (CSMP).
• Manage relationships with Safety Advisors or partners.
• Serve as SME for department HSE documents and standards.
• Coach project teams in CSMP compliance.
• Lead project safety orientation and training.
• Handle environmental permits and local regulatory needs.
• Field verify CSMP application on projects.
• Lead and participate in RCA investigations of incidents.
• Develop safety analytics and KPIs for projects.
• Collaborate with Global HSE and GFD HSE SMEs on standards.
