Job summary

Lilly is constructing an advanced manufacturing facility in Goochland County, Virginia. The Senior Director HSE will lead the site HSE team, develop programs, and ensure global-standard compliance to support a safe, compliant startup of full GMP manufacturing.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of HSE leadership, with preferred PSM experience. The position offers collaboration with corporate HSE and Site Leadership, and a strong safety culture across the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline; 5+ years of experience leading HSE teams and programs (preferably with PSM experience).
• Experience implementing and managing environmental compliance programs, including Title V reporting and recordkeeping.
• Skilled in engaging with regulatory agencies on environmental, health, and safety matters.
• Strong ability to build effective relationships across all levels, including collaboration with the Site Leadership Team.
• Demonstrated success in developing high‑performing, engaged teams and fostering a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HSE program across manufacturing, labs, utilities, and administrative areas to ensure compliance with global standards.
• Build and scale the HSE organization to support full GMP manufacturing during startup.
• Define HSE priorities and roadmaps; implement systems and processes; manage the site HSE Lead Team.
• Collaborate with Global Facilities Delivery and corporate HSE to ensure regulatory readiness and inspection readiness.
• Own the HSE Management System post-startup and ensure ongoing compliance and reporting.
