Job summary

Clearbrook is seeking a Senior HR Generalist in Arlington Heights, IL to serve as a trusted advisor to managers and staff, ensuring fair and compliant employee relations practices.

The role leads the disciplinary process, provides guidance on complex HR matters, and manages the Worker’s Compensation program while developing a small HR team. Full-time hours, Monday–Friday, with benefits.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of progressive HR experience with emphasis on employee relations, investigations, and compliance.
• Proven experience managing disciplinary processes and ensuring adherence to employment law.
• 2 years experience supervising and mentoring HR or administrative staff.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Worker’s Compensation procedures and claims management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full disciplinary process, including coaching sessions, verbal and written warnings, suspensions, and terminations.
• Stay current with federal, state, and local employment laws and provide proactive compliance guidance.
• Manage the Worker’s Compensation program, including claims, case monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee and develop a small HR team, mentoring an HR Generalist and two Administrative Assistants.
• Provide coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities to team members.
• Coordinate Employee Recognition lunches to celebrate milestone anniversaries.
