Job summary

DLA Piper seeks an experienced HR Compliance Manager to lead employment compliance across the firm, aligning policies with federal, state, and local laws while supporting strategic initiatives. The role partners with leadership to identify risks, implement proactive controls, and drive firmwide compliance initiatives.

Hybrid role across multiple offices in the US, with no direct reporting line for people management, but strong ownership of compliance processes and cross-functional influence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR) preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in HR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret, and assess changes in federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; ensure updates to Firm policies and procedures.
• Serve as SME on Firm HR policies and procedures for HR, leadership, and stakeholders.
• Act as liaison with Office of General Counsel on HR compliance, risk assessment and mitigation.
• Develop, maintain, and govern HR compliance documentation with versioning and audit readiness.
• Lead development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and guidance materials.
• Ensure policies and practices align with legal requirements and Firm standards.
• Plan and lead internal audits of HR processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead HR compliance projects, risk mitigation, and policy development as needed.
• Oversee mandatory HR compliance training programs including harassment prevention and workplace conduct.
• Monitor training completion and certification to comply with legal requirements.
• Update training content in response to legal changes or identified risk areas.
• Produce HR compliance reporting and metrics for leadership review.
• Collaborate with HR Technology, Payroll, and Benefits to align Workday configurations with policies.
• Identify gaps and recommend programmatic or system-based improvements.
