Job summary

Missouri Arts Council seeks a Senior HRBP to partner with staff and managers across nonacademic functions in Saint Louis, MO. You will lead staff relations, investigations, performance guidance, and employee experience initiatives, reporting to AVP, People & Culture.

The role focuses on investigations, policy interpretation, and organizational effectiveness, with engagement activities and compliance as central duties. Requires higher education HR experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field required.
• Seven to ten years of HR experience including staff partnership and employee relations.
• Experience in complex staff relations, investigations, and advising leaders on personnel decisions.
• Experience with engagement, organizational change, and cross-functional initiatives; higher education experience preferred.
• Direct supervisory experience beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary HR partner for staff and nonacademic departments; advise on employment practices and workforce planning.
• Lead staff employee relations case management from intake through resolution; coordinate investigations.
• Drive staff experience initiatives including engagement surveys and action planning; collaborate with Webster Staff Alliance.
• Provide independent HR review on restructures, staffing changes, and workforce actions; ensure policy compliance.
• Coordinate with finance, payroll, and departments to develop defensible HR recommendations and governance.
