Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center seeks an experienced facilities technician to perform advance maintenance, repair and inspection of hospital systems and equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for patients and staff.

The role requires five years in plant operations, formal technical training, and a valid driver's license. Responsibilities include troubleshooting HVAC/electrical systems, maintaining regulatory documentation, and supporting on-the-job training for junior technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Formal training beyond high school (i.e., technical school, apprenticeship or college).
• Valid driver’s license throughout employment.
• Five years of experience in plant operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Begins prompt corrective action on deficiencies found during inspections and communicates to affected personnel.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of tools used in building maintenance and plant repairs.
• Uses test equipment to troubleshoot and maintain building systems and plant equipment.
• Troubleshoots and maintains HVAC, electrical, and related systems.
• Follows regulatory standards (NFPA, OSHA, etc.) and documents regulatory compliance forms.
• Performs preventive maintenance to minimize equipment breakdowns.
• Maintains accurate documentation of inspections, work orders and dispatch communications.
• Provides on-the-job training and participates in departmental in-service sessions.
